Making the most of usable space
Commercial buildings are judged on usable floor area and how quickly you can move through them. Column placement, door positions and the turning circle outside the door all affect how much of the building is usable.
We look at racking layouts, vehicle movements and where staff need to walk before settling on a footprint.
Room to grow
If the plan is to expand later, it's cheaper to design for it now. An end wall set up for a future extension, or a slab poured with the next stage in mind, saves pulling things apart down the track.
Planning around the site
Commercial projects are often decided outside the building. Truck access during construction, room for vehicles to turn, hardstand, stormwater and existing services on the lot all affect where the shed can go and how big it can be.
Commercial buildings generally need building approval, and some uses or zones also need a planning approval. Requirements vary between councils and sites, so it is worth checking with a town planner or certifier early. We work through what is needed for your site before construction.
What to have ready for a quote
The site address, what the building will be used for, a rough footprint, the vehicles or stock that need to fit through the doors, and whether you need an office, amenities or a mezzanine. If the site has a survey or existing plans, send those too.
