Both issues come down to how the building handles moisture and heat, and both are much easier to solve when the shed is designed than after it is built.

Adding an awning to a shed is one of the most cost-effective ways to get extra covered space. The key is planning it as part of the shed rather than as an afterthought, so it is the right size, drains properly and looks like it belongs.
